Research at the Zaera Lab

The overall goal of our research is to understand the mechanism of surface reactions at the molecular level. Towards this goal, we use a number of surface-sensitive techniques, including infrared absorption spectroscopy, temperature-programmed desorption (TPD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), low-energy ion scattering (LEIS), secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS), Auger electron spectroscopy (AES), and low-energy electron diffraction (LEED), together with molecular beams, atmospheric pressure and solid-liquid cells, and catalytic and film deposition reactors. We focus on problems in catalysis and materials science.

Below is a list of the main ongoing and past projects in our group.  Click on the appropriate links for more details.
