Gas Chromatographs
In addition to the Varian gas chromatograph used for the analysis of the mixtures in the catalytic reactors, we have three more stand-alone gas chromatographs, another Varian and two Agilent. The Agilent instruments are equipped with capillary columns, the Varian with regular types. Provisions are available for the introduction of both liquid and gas samples, via front injections and six-way gas valves. Thermal conductivity and flame ionization detection are both used. Most of these instruments are equipped with columns optimized for the separation of hydrocarbon samples, and a column for the separation of chiral compounds will be added shortly.
